
Professor Onigbinde Isaac Oladepo, Ph.D., FCIM (UK), FNIMN, FCIHTM, FIMC, FCAI, ANIPR
Professor Onigbinde Isaac Oladepo is a distinguished Nigerian scholar, researcher, and academic administrator specializing in Marketing, Entrepreneurial Marketing, Consumer Buying Behaviour, Integrated Marketing Communications, Energy Marketing, and Business Strategy. Born on 24 December 1976 in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria, he has established himself as one of Nigeria's leading authorities in marketing and strategic management.
Professor Onigbinde obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology from the University of Lagos, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Lagos, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
His professional career spans both academia and industry. Prior to joining the university system, he held various managerial positions in leading multinational organizations, including Nigerian Breweries Plc, Consolidated Breweries Plc, and European Soaps and Detergent Limited. His industry experience provided a strong foundation for his subsequent academic contributions in marketing and business strategy.
Professor Onigbinde commenced his academic career at Babcock University in 2010 and later joined McPherson University in 2012. Through dedication to teaching, research, and institutional service, he rose through the academic ranks to become Professor of Marketing and Business Strategy in 2022. He has served in several strategic leadership positions, including Dean of Student Affairs, Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, and Chairman of numerous university committees.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to research development and academic innovation, the Management of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, announced his appointment as Director, Centre for Research and Innovation, effective 1 August 2025 for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This appointment reflects the University's confidence in his scholarly excellence, leadership capacity, and commitment to advancing research, innovation, and institutional development.
A prolific scholar, Professor Onigbinde has authored and co-authored numerous books, book chapters, journal articles, technical reports, and conference papers published in reputable national and international outlets. His research focuses on Entrepreneurial Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Corporate Governance, Customer Relationship Management, Sustainable Business Development, Marketing Communications, and Business Strategy. He has successfully supervised over 139 undergraduate research projects, as well as several MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. dissertations and theses.
His contributions to scholarship and higher education have earned him numerous distinctions, grants, and awards, including the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Research Grant, the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence and Productivity, the University Medalist Award as the First Professorial Inaugural Lecturer at McPherson University, and several awards recognizing his excellence in teaching, leadership, research, and student mentorship.
Professor Onigbinde is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (United Kingdom), Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, Fellow of the Certified Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He is actively involved in professional, academic, and community service organizations and has served as external examiner, reviewer, assessor, accreditation panel member, editorial board member, and research consultant for numerous universities and scholarly journals within and outside Nigeria.
His Maiden Professorial Inaugural Lecture, delivered on 26 June 2025, was titled “Entrepreneurial Marketing and Sustainability of Indigenous Enterprises: The Strategic Pathways to Crossing the Red Ocean.” Through his scholarship, mentorship, leadership, and commitment to excellence, Professor Onigbinde Isaac Oladepo continues to make significant contributions to marketing scholarship, research innovation, university administration, and sustainable enterprise development in Nigeria and beyond.
